Plant on a whim.  Lay the footpath where your heart says it should be.
Change things because you feel like it.  Garden for the love of it.

At Prairie Eden Designs, we transform concrete into an integrated garden feature. To us, it is more than just concrete - it is part of the medium that is being applied to the canvas.

We use a custom mix for our concrete, making it stronger and allowing us to get a better finish. Rather than wire mesh, we use structural reinforcing bar to add strength to the concrete. We use only high quality color hardener and release to provide harder and stronger finishes. We use the highest quality stamp pads to assure the best possible finished look.

After the pour is complete, we come back and painstakingly detail the finish, assuring that the patterns all look right, and that the control joints are cut properly. We apply the highest quality sealer to assure durability and beauty for years to come.

All of this costs us more than the "run of the mill" finish. And if all you are doing is pouring a slab, then the "run of the mill" product will probably do fine. But we expect that the finished patio or walkway product that we implement will bring "oohs and aahs" for many years to come. It is more than a slab to us - it is an integral piece of your garden.

London Cobble Walkway

Stairs and walkway with London Cobble stamp pattern. Cobble patterns generally work best with linear shapes like these square steps, though this particular pattern is small enough that it can be used sometimes with non-linear shapes.

Random Stone Patio

Patio was poured with a base color with heavy red in it, using a Random Stone stamp pattern. This pattern works best with non-linear shapes (like the curves in this patio).

Random Stone walkway

The pattern is ideal for creating "garden paths" in non-linear shapes.

Random Stone Pattern - Night

Lights are often poured into stairs and walkways to add additional safety and flair after dark.

Slate pattern in gray

Generally this stamp pattern works best on linear shapes, though it is sometimes used like this for non-linear shapes.

Textured stair/walkway

Textured walkway with nose of stairs detailed to resemble the granite stone used for the connecting terrace walls.

Textured pad

This pad is a typical brown base color with a gray release, and a high-gloss sealer on top. Textured finish works with either linear or non-linear shapes. It can be cut to resemble "slabs" of something like flagstone.
